We plan on checking into our resort hotel on the same morning we have a character breakfast scheduled at 8:30. What is the earliest time we can check in ( I know the room won't be ready but we want the meal tickets) and how long is the whole process?

    Lisa,

Great question.  Especially since I didn't even know the answer (we usually arrive in the afternoon)! But, since I like problem solving and learning new things, I happily decided to take on your challenge.

Based on the answer I found from one Cast Member it seems like Mickey likes to rise and shine very early, as you can check-in at the resorts at least as early as 7:00 am.  At that hour your room will very likely not be ready, but you can get your resort room key, and be able to use it for park entry and dining (if you have included these in your resort package).

According to another Cast Member I spoke with, It seems that it may even be possible for you to check-in earlier, but it just depends upon how long it takes for the specific resort's system to be reset for the next day.  Some times this could be as early as 3:00 or 4:00 am, but I think it is safer to assume that the time will be closer to 7:00 am.

Just in case you or others are wondering, the "room available" time at most resorts is 3:00 pm (although your room may be available earlier).  The two exceptions to this time are the Vacation Club Villas, which are available at 4:00 pm, and the campground sites at Fort Wilderness, which are available at 1:00 pm.

    Hope that helps.
