Plan to camp in October, was wondering about taking the quick service dining plan for the 5 of us. Kind of expensive, do you recommend the plan, or would it be more economical to cook own meals. Worried that I won't feel like cooking or won't have the time

    Hi Melinda,

I have found the Disney Dining Plan very cost effective while on vacation, particularly if any of the people in the travel party are children.  It would be hard to imagine cooking three meals per day for a child for less than what the quick service plans costs.  Cooking would probably be more economical if your party of five includes mostly adults, but you have to ask yourself whether you really want to cook that often while on vacation.  Will you be spending much time in the parks?  If so, it may not be practical to run back to your campsite to prepare food for the group.  Personally, I would give the Disney Dining Plan a big thumbs-up and suggest you give it a try.  Leave the cooking for at home.  Enjoy your vacation!
