Hello. Is there a place on property where I can rent a car? I’d like to drive our family to the beach during part of our stay.

    Hi Jill!

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

Thank you for sending in such a good question. Yes, there is a convenient Car Care Center located at Walt Disney World (at Magic Kingdom Park auto plaza, adjacent to the Speedway gas station).  They provide many services, including car rentals - the number to call is (407) 824-3470.  They also offer you a very useful shuttle pickup/drop off service, to/from any Disney Resort hotel or theme park (for Magic Kingdom Park you would be dropped off at the Transportation and Ticket Center).  Please note that this complimentary service is subject to availability so I would recommend giving them a call when you arrive at your Disney Resort hotel (or beforehand if you know your plans) to make your reservation.

If you decide to keep your rental car for a few days, it's worth noting that for Disney Resort hotel Guests, parking is complimentary at the four theme parks and two water parks.  There is, however, an overnight parking fee for any vehicles parked overnight at Disney Resort hotels.  This fee will vary, according to the category of Resort hotel (for 2019, the overnight fee at a Value Resort is $13, at a Moderate Resort is $19, and at a Deluxe Resort is $24 per night, and these fees are subject to change, and will increase for 2020).  The only exceptions to this fee is if you are a member of the Disney Vacation Club, where there will be no charge for overnight parking if you are staying at a Disney Vacation Club Villa regardless of whether you are using points or another method of payment to stay there, or when using vacation points to stay at a Disney Resort hotel.  Overnight self-parking is complimentary for Guests with disabilities.

Self-parking at the Resort hotels remains complimentary if you are just visiting for a meal or entertainment or other activities during the day, as long as you are not staying overnight.

Please come back and visit us if you have any further questions. We will be happy to help you plan your magical vacation to Walt Disney World, and keep your eye on the Disney Parks Blog for all the latest official news and updates on events that may be happening while you are there.
