My 11yo D has about 20 pins. She doesn't want to trade most of them. So what will happen if someone comes up to her say they want to trade?

    Hi Laurie,

Tell your daughter not to worry and go ahead and wear her pins as she will not have to part with them!  The trading that she will most likely do will be with the cast members and she will only trade if they have a pin she wants and she has one she wants to trade.  The only set rule for trading with cast members is that they have to trade a pin with her if it is on a pin trading lanyard and she asks for it and they cannot request a certain pin from her...that will be completely up to her.  There is one exception to the rule here and that is for younger pin traders there are cast members wearing green lanyards who can only trade with guests 12 and under, but your daughter falls into this category still at age 11 and will be able to trade with cast members who are wearing these green lanyards.  I have done much pin trading at both Walt Disney World and at Disneyland and I have never been approached by a guest asking me to trade pins.  If this were to happen, your daughter is not obligated at all to trade anything she does not want to.  You might be able to pick up some information from the following link all about pin trading so you will be more familiar with the ins and outs of this wonderful hobby that I and many others love so much!  You can also get some more information from the official Disney pin trading site.  The best advice I can give your daughter is to read up a little about pin trading and just have fun with it!!!!

    Have a magical day!
