When people say world resort, are they referring to a specific resort? Which resort is the one closest to all the parks? How many parks is there all together?

    Hey, Karen!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I am so excited for your first trip the place "where dreams come true." Get ready for magic, adventure, delicious food and everlasting memories!

When someone says "world resort" they are referring to the 43 square miles of land and water that make up Walt Disney World Resort. There are four main theme parks (Magic Kingdom Park, Epcot, Disney's Hollywood Studios and Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park), two Disney Water Parks (Disney's Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon Water Park), ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex and Disney Springs. All these areas combined with golf courses, spas, merchandise locations and over 130 restaurants truly make it a "world resort."

There is not one Resort hotel that is closest to all theme parks but this map will show you where all the Resort hotels are relative to each theme park. Make sure the "All Parks & Resorts" filter is selected and you can zoom in to see where each Resort hotel is located relative to the theme parks. The most central Resort hotels are located in the Epcot area. Personally, we spend the most time at Magic Kingdom Park so we look to stay at Resort hotels in that area. The less time spent traveling is more time for theme park fun.

Disney Dad Tip: Please download the My Disney Experience Mobile App. Here you can check wait times, view maps, make dining reservations, see show times, schedule/modify FastPass+ reservations and even "Get Directions" between any two Walt Disney World Resort locations.

Karen, please come back with more questions and enjoy making many Magical Memories!
