Hello! We have 5 people in our family - an 8 year-old, a 6 year-old, and a 2 year-old. We are planning to use the Rider Swap Program when available. For those rides, can we just get Fast Passes for the 1st two people, or do we all need to get them?

Hi, Jill! Enjoying your family's favorite attractions can sometimes be a little tricky when you have some members of your party that just do not quite "measure up" yet. We have frequently utilized the Rider Switch system over the years and have found it to be the most practically perfect tool for making the whole family happy. All you have to do is bring your entire party to the entrance of the attraction and let the Cast Member know you need to use Rider Switch. The first party will enter the normal queue for the attraction while the second party waits. When the first party exits, the second adult may enter with up to two other Guests to experience the attraction.

I called to speak with a Cast Member this morning to double check the current policy on combining FastPass+ and Rider Switch. Per the Cast Member, if the members of the first party are utilizing the FastPass+ queue, then the members of the second party using Rider Switch should have FastPass+ for the attraction as well. However, he also said that individual Cast Members at the attraction’s entrance may not always require the second party to have a scheduled FastPass+. In my experience, the Cast Members did not require me to hold a FastPass+ when I went in as a member of the second party. Note that this is based on personal experience, so be sure to check with the Cast Members yourself at the attraction on what they will allow.

I hope this helps you in planning your visit to Walt Disney World Resort. Please stop by if you think of any other questions, Jill!
