Is there a way we can pay for or get priority boarding on the Disney Cruise? One of our travelers is battling cancer. We will have a wheelchair waiting for her , but wanting to make boarding as easy as possible. Any helpful hints?

    Ahoy, Marya!

It is wonderful to hEAR from you again. It sounds like you have a very special cruise planned for one of the members of your party. I hope this sailing will take her mind off of what she's been dealing with at home and be the getaway she needs to feel better. Disney has a way of being just what the doctor ordered!

Disney Cruise Line boards Guests by group numbers. Concierge-level Guests board first while Guests who have sailed with Disney Cruise Line over 10 times board in Group One. After that, Guests are assigned a number that coordinates with their scheduled Port Arrival Time that was chosen during the Online Check-In process. The terminal can be quite busy from the time it opens until the first boarding groups are called. If all goes well with disembarkation from the previous cruise, boarding typically begins around 11:45 a.m. Since there is no way to pay for priority boarding, I recommend arriving after boarding as begun so you don't have to worry about mobility issues with the larger crowds. My recommendation would be to get to the port around 1:00 p.m. Typically at this time, you can check right in and board the ship with ease. Lunch will still be available, and you'll only have to wait a few minutes to drop your carry-on items off at your stateroom as they are ready around 1:30 p.m.

Marya, you may want to reach out to Disney Cruise Line Special Services Team if you have any specific questions or concerns. Their email address is SpecialServices@disneycruise.com. It was pleasure assisting you again.
