If I pay for a character meal at cinderellas table using the ddp, am I actually paying twice as much as someone not using the dip, since it costs two dining credits?

Technically, you're not paying twice as much as guest not using the dining plan, Aubrey, since you're using credits instead of dollars.  That said, the general consensus is that your dining plan credits will likely go further if you pay out of pocket for meals that would otherwise cost you two table service credits.  In most cases, you'll get a bigger bang for your buck if you use table service credits to pay for character and buffet meals that require a single credit.  It all depends, though, on what your dining line-up looks like.  Cinderella's Royal Table can be a pricey option, so you may come out ahead if you use your table service credits.  It really all depends on where you intend to dine for the remainder of your meals.  If you submit those in another question, we might be able to help with your decision.  Good luck!
