In the past, we have used the GAC for our son with autism and walked up to the fastpass line. Now that the Magicbands are in use, will we still be able to go through the FP line with his GAC?

    Hi Jaynee!

There is a lot of excitement in the air and talk right now about FastPass+ which will be a part of MyMagic+.  Currently, FastPass+ is still in a testing phase with a limited number of pre-selected Guests.  Since it is in a testing phase, a lot of things can change before they fully launch FastPass+ later this year.

One of the cool things about the MagicBand will be that it frees you up from carrying around your room keys, tickets and FASTPASSES.  Instead, you'll be able to keep all of that information tied to your MagicBand or a RF-enable card if you do not want a MagicBand.

Being the Mom of a special needs son, I have specifically asked the question about whether or not the Guest Assistance Cards (GAC) will also be linked with the MagicBand system.  I was told that as of right now, they don't know but Disney does still plan to continue to assist Guests with special needs to the best of their abilities.  From everything I've officially seen about the FastPass+ service, it will allow Guests who like to plan in advance, to select FastPass+ attractions before they leave home which will actually save them time once they reach the parks. It doesn't mention any changes to Guest Assistance Cards at this time.

Please keep in touch.  As soon as the FastPass+ system is fully implemented, I will be sure to investigative for you.

Wishing you minnie magical memories :-) Allison V.
