In the past we took grandchildren to WDW. This trip will be 3 couples, all seniors, 2 in wheelchairs and one on a scooter. We plan to use the Disney buses. How many handicapped appliances [wheelchairs, scooters] can one bus handle?

    Greetings, Holly!

Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question. I am more than happy to help!

Most of the buses are able to accommodate two scooters or wheelchairs at a time. If one of the people using a wheelchair is able to transfer to a seat, then I would think that the wheelchair could be folded so that you could all ride on the same bus. I'm sure that would make it much easier for your group to be able to stay together. I personally travel with a double stroller for my children, and there is usually room for me to stow it on the bus once it is folded.

Walt Disney World has several different categories offering access to attractions for guests with mobility disabilities. You may want to familiarize yourself with these in order to be prepared for the attractions that require transferring from the scooter or wheelchairs.

If you have any other questions, please feel free to come back and ask us. We love to help and hope to add a bit of pixie dust to your vacation!

    Have fun!
