    Wendy from NE Asked

In the past we have stayed at the Beach Club Villas and the Polynesian Villa Studios. We are starting to plan for our next trip. Would we be disappointed if we stayed at a moderate or value resort? Mostly we don't want to spend our time on the bus?

    Hi Wendy,

You have stayed at a couple of fantastic resorts. Disney's Beach Club Villas is quaint and lovely, and so close to Epcot that you can walk there! Disney's Polynesian Villas & Bungalows is a wonderful and recent addition to the Disney Vacation Club resorts, allowing members to stay close to the Magic Kingdom in an immersive tropical theme. You will find differences if the next time you stay at Walt Disney World you choose to stay at a moderate or value resort hotel; however, if you are aware of these ahead of time and plan for them, you will still have a wonderful vacation!

First, as you have already thought of, your travel around Walt Disney World property will likely take longer from a moderate or value resort than from the deluxe villa resorts. The moderate and value resorts are typically located further away from theme parks, which will make a bus ride longer. My family has always figured that if we are on a bus, we are on a bus, and it does not matter to us if the ride takes 10 minutes or 30 minutes because someone else is driving! Do be aware that the room sizes will be smaller at moderate resorts and smaller again at value resorts. At moderate resorts, you will most often find two queen size beds, while at the value resorts you will most often find two double size beds. You will also find that dining options at resorts become more diverse as you move from value to moderate to deluxe and deluxe villa resort hotels.

All of this said, remember that you still receive the benefits of being a Walt Disney World resort hotel guest when staying in a value or moderate resort, including access to Extra Magic Hours and the ability to make your Disney FastPass+ selections earlier!

I hope that these thoughts are helpful for you, Wendy. Please do let us know if you have any further questions.
