    Lesli Asked

We have a party of 10 (4-A, 6-C) traveling in Sept. My family of 4 has been several times, but it is my sister's family's(6) first trip. I want it to be special! Any pointers for traveling with such a large party? Ages 7-14. ADR already made. Thx!!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel Lesli!

Its always super exciting traveling with family members who are traveling to Disney for the first time and seeing it through their eyes! Its a little different moving 10 people through the parks than it is 4 but it can still be just as fabulous! Here are some things I keep in mind when I'm visiting with extended family:

    * Let everyone feel they're involved in the planning stage. Ask everyone for their 5 "must dos" & try to work in as many as possible.
    * Don't over plan every minute of every day. It makes things more stressful.
    * Before the trip, plan a time to go over everything. Make sure everyone has a copy of all Confirmation #'s. That way they won't have to rely on you for everything.
    * Don't plan to spend every minute of the trip together. Let everyone know that its okay for someone to go back to the resort for a nap or swim without any feelings being hurt.
    * Divide and conquer. You may have some that are thrill-seekers while others are not. Its okay to split up and let the thrill seekers ride Tower of Terror while the others watch Beauty and the Beast - Live on Stage.
    * Plan a date night for each set of adults.
    * Take tons of pictures & take advantage of Disney's PhotoPass Service. You can combine all of the PhotoPass Cards you get and order one PhotoCD.
    * If you see that the younger kids are wearing out, head back to your resort for a break.
    * Be flexible. Things happen. Go with the flow. Remember to have patience & play it by ear. It usually takes longer to get larger parties moving & keep them moving.

A few weeks after your trip, get together for a party to look at all the pictures and videos and talk about your trip.

Please feel free to visit us with all of your planning questions. We're hEAR for you!

Wishing you minnie magical memories :-)  Allison V.
