    Paula from SP Asked

My party are 5 people - me, my husband, my brother (30 yr), my daughter (6 yr) and my baby (18 months). Can I reserve and stay at a stand room (Art of Animation for example) or I will be forced to reserve a suite room?

    Hi Paula,

The stated room capacity at the Disney resort hotels is based on the number of guests age three and older. Beyond the stated room capacity, you could also add a child under the age of three sleeping in a Pack n' Play crib.

The standard rooms at the value level resorts (All Stars, Pop Century, and the Little Mermaid rooms at Art of Animation) have a capacity of four guests, plus a child in a crib. This means that technically your party could stay there. However, I have to tell you that three adults plus two kids in these rooms would be quite uncomfortable. These rooms have double beds (smaller than a queen) and very little extra floor space, so accommodations and sleeping arrangements will be a challenge.

As an alternative, you could get two connecting rooms at any Disney resort. You could also get a family suite at either All Star Music or Art of Animation. Another alternative would be a Murphy bed room at the Port Orleans Riverside resort. In addition to two queen sized beds, there is also a small bed that pulls down from the wall which is perfect for a six year old. The Fort Wilderness cabins fall into the moderate category and sleep six on four different sleep surfaces. There are standard bunk bed rooms at the Wilderness Lodge that have a queen sized bed with bunks, which means that your brother and daughter would not have to sleep together. Also, many of the deluxe level standard rooms have two queen sized beds plus a daybed that would easily sleep a child.

As you can see, there are many alternatives that would suit a range of needs.

We'd be happy to describe any of these alternatives more detail. Just let us know what what we can do to help.
