Our party has 21 people - 2 families are a party of 6. We are considering the Doubletree in Disney Springs as cost is a huge concern to the families. Can you share the advantages/disadvantages of doing so? We plan on buying magic bands on our own.

Welcome to Agrabah traveler! It’s so nice to see you here today at the Disney Parks Moms Panel JT! Visiting Walt Disney World Resort with a large party can be a blast. It’s a great way to create new memories together.

There are a few similarities between staying at a Disney Resort Hotel and staying at a Disney’s Springs Resort, like the DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Orlando. Both of these resort types include Extra Magic Hours, early access to FastPass+ reservations, and complimentary theme park bus transportation.

If you are traveling with little ones, I find that staying at a Disney Resort Hotel is the best option because of Disney’s Magical Express. This motorcoach benefit is offered to Guests staying at a Disney Resort Hotel and consists of complimentary transportation to and from Orlando International Airport and your Walt Disney World Resort Hotel. It’s so nice to not have to worry about finding transportation to the hotel that offers car seats or having to bring mine with me! As a Disney Resort Hotel Guest, you are also able to add on a Disney Dining Plan, receive complimentary MagicBands, and have access to complimentary theme park parking, if you have your own vehicle with you.

I recommend checking the room rates at the Value Resorts. You will be able to receive all the benefits of being a Disney Resort Hotel Guest, at a lower cost. I also highly suggest the Family Suites at Disney’s All-Star Music Resort and those at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort. Both resort’s Family Suites sleep up to 6 adults, which gives your family plenty of room!

    Have a Magical Day!
