Hi! We are a party of 8 with 3 children age 5 and under visiting 1/15 -1/21. We have 6 day base tickets and dining plan. I would love an itinerary to take advantage of the parks and character meals. Parents will go out at night while Nana babysits. Thanks

    Hi Jenise,

I've got a little secret...when I plan my Disney vacations, our agendas are dictated by the dining reservations I get. If we don't hit every single attraction or show, we'll live. If we don't get reservations at a restaurant we like, we rearrange our travel schedule. (It happened once!)

Since character dining experiences are important to you, let me list out my favorites:

    Magic Kingdom

Breakfast at the Crystal Palace is always a must for us. If you snag an early reservation (at around 8:00), you can usually enter the Magic Kingdom before it opens and be done with breakfast by the time the guests are allowed to enter the park.

    Epcot

The Princess Storybook Dining experience in the Norway pavilion (World Showcase) is probably the most popular character dining experience in Epcot, but my favorite is the dinner offered at The Garden Grill in The Land pavilion (Future World). The food is awesome and you'll get to hang out with my boss Mr. Mouse!

    Disney's Hollywood Studios

There's only one character dining experience at this theme park and it's the breakfast or lunch at Hollywood & Vine. However, you'll find some real "characters" next door at the 50's Prime Time Cafe. The cast members are a real hoot because they transport you back in time to the 1950s. (Remember to keep your elbows off the table!)

    Disney's Animal Kingdom

The breakfast and lunch options at Tusker House are super fun and also offer some really unique dishes. It's a fun culinary experience for youngsters.

Here's a little tip from your buddy Derek:

For your nighttime excursions, definitely check out Downtown Disney for some awesome restaurants and equally awesome shopping.

I hope that helps and I hope you have an awesome vacation!

    Best regards,
    Derek
