Hi, we are participating in Run Disney Star Wars Dark Side this month in WDW. I was wondering what happens at the end of the races. Is there a special event for the racers?

    Hi Despina!

Thank you for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. It sounds to me like this may be your first runDisney event and I just want to give you fair warning you may be hooked! Around mile 8 of my first runDisney half marathon I said "never again" and by the time I crossed the finish line I was searching for the next one I could sign up for.

After you cross the finish line you'll collect your Star Wars Half Marathon- The Dark Side Finisher Medal. You'll then pick up your drinks and snack box and proceed to the photo area. Some runners will skip this area, but I really encourage you not to because it's a great way to commemorate your amazing accomplishment! You'll be able to preview your photos post race by following these steps. While there is not an official post race party for Star Wars Half Marathon- The Dark Side, like there is for Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon, there are still so many ways to celebrate, you are in Walt Disney World after all! Some runners will head straight to the parks for the day, while others choose to head back to their room shower and relax for a bit before hitting the parks that evening. Whichever you choose make sure to wear your medal proudly! For any more information on the schedule for the weekend, The Digital Event Guide is now available and has all sorts of helpful information for the weekend itself and general running tips too!

Please let me know if you have any other questions before your trip and 'May the Force be with you' while you are out on the race course!
