What can the parks do for us since my husband is recovering from back surgery as far as minimizing our wait time on rides? Bn told where to go at parks for them to decide what services we'll receive, but no one can tell me any more. Info needed- please

    Hi Christi,

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I am happy to provide some additional information on services that might help your husband navigate the parks and resorts.

First, be sure to review the Services for Guests with Mobility Disabilities. One of the services that might be helpful is the Disability Access Service. Once you arrive at your first theme park, stop by Guest Relations. A cast member will work with you to determine if this service will accommodate your husband.

Here is how it works - when we have used it in the past, my husband has registered for the service. A cast member then added our girls and me so that we could ride with him. To use the service, anyone in the party can approach a cast member at the entrance to a ride or attraction. Explain that a member of your party has the Disability Access Service and then request a return time for the ride. Once you return, the person who has the Disability Access Service will need to scan in first for the ride. The good news is that you can use the Disability Access Service in addition to Fast Pass+.

Christi, since my husband has mobility challenges, this service has been amazing. It has allowed him to enjoy more of the day with us at the parks. I also suggest that you consider Electric Conveyance Vehicle (ECV) Rentals. We rented one for my husband in the parks on two occasions at Disney's Animal Kingdom and Epcot. As you consider your options, I trust you will find the best solution for your husband and have a wonderful time in the parks!

Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
