Which park do you think would be least crowded this year on Veteran's Day (Tues, Nov. 11)?  Will crowds be worse all week or is this just a one day influx of people?  Also what is the least crowded park on weekends?  Trying to plan smart.

    Heather,
Whenever try to figure out which park is least crowded, I use “crowd calendars” from two key sources:
    1) TouringPlans.com
    2) TourGuideMike.com

I use these sources, because they are based on a lot more research about crowd patterns than I could ever do myself (and in my experience they get it right). If the question is further than six months out, then TouringPlans is the only place that will have data (TourGuideMike waits until WDW publishes the park hour calendars).

Since these are non-public sources, I obtained permission from Len Testa (co-author of Unofficial Guide and webmaster of TouringPlans.com) to help you specifically on this question. Cool –huh?

So here is what I found…

TouringPlans currently predicts relatively lighter crowds from Sun. Nov. 9 to Fri., Nov. 14, including Veteran’s Day on the 11th.

They list Hollywood Studios as the best choice and Epcot and the Animal Kingdom as the most crowded parks. Magic Kingdom is the second best option for the day, but keep in mind that it is scheduled to host a Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party ("MVMCP") on that date.

Some other data points to keep in mind:
    - “Jersey Week” ends the prior Sun., Nov. 9
    - The Epcot Food & Wine Festival ends on Sun. Nov 9
    - Mon., Nov. 10 is the first MVMCP of the year

Lastly, in general, the least crowded parks throughout the year on Saturday (on average – your mileage may vary) are the Magic Kingdom, and Hollywood Studios. In general Sunday is one of the busiest days of the week, but the “least bad” (relatively less crowded) park is typically the Animal Kingdom.  On non-summer weekends, the water parks are also relatively low crowd options.

I definitely recommend that you re-visit at least one of these sites as your dates get closer, since the recommendations can change, and often are impacted by the publication of the Extra Magic Hours.

Hope that helps you "plan smart"!
