Little Princess in the Park

    Carla from CA Asked

Which park (Disneyland or CA Adventure) is best for a 5 year old girl's first time at Disney? She loves all things princess and Frozen. We are celebrating her birthday. What are some MUST see/do for our little first timer?

Greetings, Carla, and a royal welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! You’re in luck, because I also have a Princess-obsessed 5-year-old, so I’m happy to help you start planning!

For starters, be sure to ask a Cast Member for a complimentary “1st Visit!” button upon entering either park. If you’re trying to decide between Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park, I’d recommend Disneyland Park for your 5-year-old’s birthday celebration. Since your little one is obsessed with Disney Princesses, I think she’ll fall in love with Royal Hall in Fantasy Faire, where she can wait in one line to meet three Princesses! Recently, my daughter had the chance to meet with Snow White, Ariel, and Cinderella, all within a matter of minutes. The Character interactions in Royal Hall are so special, and the Princesses take the time to have a great conversation with your group before posing for a picture. These interactions are truly priceless!

Before visiting Royal Hall, I recommend taking your Princess over to Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique for a royal makeover to celebrate her special day! As a matter of fact, this is where my little Princess is hoping to spend her birthday later this month! Choose from various packages including treatments like a special hairstyle, makeup application, nail color, and accessories. Some packages even include a Disney Princess gown and a portrait session near Cinderella’s carriage! I recommend checking the Boutique’s availability online or by calling (714) 781-7895 to make a reservation as soon as possible if you’re interested in this experience.

If it works with your schedule and your budget, I recommend purchasing a Park Hopper Ticket so you can enjoy all the magic both parks have to offer! If you’re able to make this happen, you’re going to want to take your birthday Princess over to Anna & Elsa’s Royal Welcome in Hollywood Land. This special meet-and-greet is a great opportunity for special interactions with these sweet sisters. Afterward, you won’t want to miss a showing of the spectacular stage show, Frozen – Live at the Hyperion… it’s an experience you’ll never forget!

For the ultimate Princess experience, you may want to consider Disney Princess Breakfast Adventures at Napa Rose, inside Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. This special three-course breakfast includes personal interactions with Disney Princesses, enchanting activities, and even a Princess portrait moment!

Happy birthday wishes... we'll see ya’ real soon!

Meet the Panelist: Kristin, California

Hello from sunny California! I currently live less than an hour from the Disneyland Resort, and have been an Annual Passholder for about 20 years! As a mom of three kids under the age of 7, I consider myself an expert at navigating the Disneyland Resort with little ones. My family of five can’t get enough of the magic and happiness we encounter every time we step foot on Main Street, U.S.A. I look forward to sprinkling pixie dust on your next visit to “The Happiest Place on Earth!”
