Hi, do parents typically dress up and trick or treat at the Halloween party or is it just for the kids?

    Happy Halloween, Julie!

Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with this "spooktacular" question! My family and I are currently brainstorming about costumes for our next Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. It's so much fun!

The short answer to your question is absolutely YES, adults can definitely wear costumes and trick-or-treat during Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. I went as Minnie Mouse the last time we attended the After-Dark Special Event in Magic Kingdom Park. However, please keep in mind there are some costume restrictions to consider.

Guests 14 years of age or older can't wear masks of any kind. The guidelines prohibit long capes or full-length clothing that reaches the ground, such as princess gowns. Layered costumes or props that surround the entire body are strongly discouraged. Not only that, but you may be subject to additional screening or be asked to change. Any weapons that could be mistaken for the real thing are also prohibited. Adults can wear tutus, transparent wings, toys swords, plastic light sabers, etc. Headgear that doesn't cover the face is also allowed.

All the above being said, there are many families that opt for Halloween Inspired Fashion, matching t-shirts and light up necklaces instead.

Disney Mom Tip: To watch Mickey's "Boo-to-You" Halloween Parade at Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, claim a spot somewhere near the middle of Main Street U.S.A. The Gravediggers will typically do their dance a few times along the parade route, and Main Street U.S.A. is usually one of those spots. You'll also be able to better appreciate Cinderella Castle changing colors in the background from that particular area of the parade route.
