    Hopelily from GA Asked

Hi, my parents and I are traveling to the parks in January and they are 60-70 years old. I was wondering what kind of seating/ resting spots there are for older guests especially around some of the more extreme rides they might not want to go on. Thanks :)

    Hey, HopeLily!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I am so glad you asked this question. I traveled with my parents a few years back and they did not ride all the thrill, chills and spills attractions. Their bodies are not what they used to be but still had a great time.

There are plenty of benches around all the theme parks for Guests to rest tired feet or just people watch. If they would like to get out of the heat or cold they are welcome to sit in a counter service restaurant for a short spell while the rest of the group enjoys faster-paced attractions. One of my favorite rest places is the Liberty Square Riverboat in Magic Kingdom Park. This 17-minute journey around Tom Sawyer Island along the Rivers of America is educational, relaxing and a step right into a novel from Mark Twain.

Each theme park will have places for your parents to sit, shop or stroll while you are away. Keep your eyes wide open as you walk around for those special spots. There are no designated "rest spots" other than benches.

Disney Dad Tip: To help prevent Guests, young and old, from tiring, take breaks every 1.5 hours either for meals, snacks or broadway-style shows to help recharge. Even the Walt Disney World Railroad, with three train stations, is a great 20 minutes of history and a fun trip around Magic Kingdom Park.

I hope this helps you and your parents have a wonderful time. Please let us know if you have any other questions to make your Disney vacation special.

HopeLily, enjoy making many Magical Memories at Walt Disney World Resort!
