My parents are disabled and my husband just injured his knee. So, we have at least 2 guaranteed to be in scooters and one possible. What should we expect in getting from the parking lot to the park? Ferry or monorail? What is best? Thank you!

Hi Melissa! I'm so sorry your husband injured his knee! It sounds like Walt Disney World Resort may be a perfect respite in the midst of all you have going on!

You will be happy to know there are designated parking areas throughout Walt Disney World Resort for Guests with disabilities. A valid disability parking permit is required. The Disability Parking Lots are a short distance from the main entrance to each of the 4 theme parks. Be sure to let the Cast Members know of your need to park in the designated areas and they will help guide you through the parking lots.

If you park in the Transportation & Ticket Center, I would encourage you to take a Ferryboat to Magic Kingdom Park or the Monorail to Epcot. To access the Monorail from the Transportation & Ticket Center, you can use the elevators or ramps.

Also, Disney buses are equipped to accommodate various types of wheelchairs and ECVs/scooters. However, please note that most buses can hold up to 2 mobility devices. If your husband ends up needing a scooter or wheelchair as well, you might need to split into multiple groups when using the Disney bus transportation.

As you are finalizing your plans, it will be helpful to know there are several access options available for Guests with mobility disabilities. Walt Disney World Resort is committed to ensuring all Guests have a magical visit and this includes maximizing the queue experience. Based on the attraction, you and your party will either wait in the standard queue or receive a return time to the attraction comparable to the current wait time. Cast Members throughout the theme parks will be able to provide further attraction specific information.

Thank you for your question and enjoy every magical moment of your Walt Disney World Resort vacation!
