Are there parades children can participate in?

Hi Linda, and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Get your little ones ready to dance, because I have a great idea to get them right into the middle of the action!

During most of the parades at Walt Disney World, you'll find kids on the sidewalks singing and dancing, and sometimes even getting a handshake from a character as they pass by. But there's one really fun event that's part parade and part street party, where everyone can join in. It's called the Move It! Shake It! Dance & Play It! Street Party, and you'll find it most days in the Magic Kingdom Park.

It starts as a parade in the Town Square area, then travels up Main Street, U.S.A. to Cinderella Castle. That's where the fun really begins! The parade stops in front of the castle and a D.J. invites everyone into the street to dance with the characters among the all the colorful floats. We have some adorable pictures of our son dancing with one of his favorites, Woody from "Toy Story."

The Move It! Shake It! Dance & Play It! Street Party is usually held a few times during the day, so check your Times Guide and find a spot near Cinderella Castle to take part in the fun.

I hope this helps you have a blast on your Walt Disney World vacation, Linda. Thanks again for visiting us, and please stop by again if you have any more questions.

    Keep Disney Dreaming,

    Kathy K.

Meet the Panelist: Kathy, Florida

I've lived my whole life just an hour's drive from Walt Disney World, so I've been a regular visitor for as long as I can remember. Even after all these years and so many visits, I love that there's still so much to discover! Now that I'm a mom myself, seeing my favorite place through my son's eyes has given me a whole new perspective that I enjoy sharing with other parents of young children. Learn More About Kathy
