Hello moms panel..My question is I Booked a DV and are using DME. But we recently received an upgrade and we received the luggage tags for our old resort I was told that I could just cross out the name and put new resort on the luggage tags..Is this true?

    Hi Margarita!

My son and I had an upgrade in August 2010 from a Moderate Resort to a Deluxe Resort and we were told the same thing, to cross out the Resort name on the Magical Express tags but it is partly correct.  When I landed I went right to the Magical Express Welcome Center with my baggage claim tickets and they were able to re-route my luggage to the right Resort.  They told me that is was a good thing that I did this or my luggage would have gone to the original Resort because they scan it rather than read what is on the tag (the original Resort is on the bar code).  If you choose to cross out the Resort name, your luggage will eventually get to you, but it might take a very long time.

A better option would be to call Magical Express directly at 1-866-599-0951 and have them confirm that your bags will be going to the Resort that you will be staying at.  If there is not enough time before your vacation for them to send you new Magical Express tags, then put the original tags on them.  When you land, head right to the Magical Express Welcome Center with your baggage claim tickets and they can re-route your luggage to the where you are staying.

I hope that your next vacation to Walt Disney World is extra magical!
