Hello Moms Panel, Looking to book my trip in a few months and I was thinking about staying at The Grand Floridian. Can someone recommend a building that may be better to stay in? The trip is for myself, husband & 12 year old twins. Thanks

    Nancy,

My daughters currently list the Grand Floridian as their favorite Disney resort, so we stay there often. I think each of the buildings as its own advantages and perks, so I will list the highlights of each and let you decide what best suits your family.

The main building is, obviously, the most convenient. It is home to all but one restaurant (Narcoossee's), the monorail, the shops, and the arcade. Rooms here are concierge or club level.

Sago Cay is located very close to the main building, but is closest to the convention center, so we've found lots of adults traveling on business, so it tends to be a little quieter. It is right beside the marina, if you'd like to rent a boat, and it has outdoor tables nearby which make a perfect viewing spot for Wishes (the music is piped in).

Sugarloaf Key is also close to the main building, and also home to club concierge rooms. It is located between the marina and the main pool, which is very convenient but the main pool can also bring noise with it.

Conch Key's building is the farthest out on property, and therefore generally pretty quiet. It offers lovely lagoon views, and is very close to both Narcoossee's and the water taxi to the Magic Kingdom.

Boca Chica is where you will find the desirable Magic Kingdom views, which of course come at a premium. It looks out over the water and into the theme park on one side, and faces the main pool on the other side, making it very popular.

Finally, there is Big Pine Key. This building boasts lagoon views on one side and main pool views on the other, and it is the closest to the beach pool (which is our favorite). While it is technically one of the farthest buildings from the quick service location (and your refillable mug stop), it's also my personal favorite. The Grand Floridian is a gorgeous resort; I don't mind walking a few extra steps there.

    Hope that helps!
