Hi Panel! We are there the 2nd week of Nov. staying at the Port Orleans Riverside, any feedback? Also what's the best way to get to1900 Park Fare using disney trans. & what time should we leave our room to arrive by 9:15am. What trans. to get to S.of A

    Hi Lisa!

Port Orleans - Riverside is a completely charming Disney Resort, themed as the Mississippi Bayou area of the Old South.  There are two choices of types of rooms, those located in Magnolia Bend reflect the look of plantation-style mansion homes, and those in Alligator Bayou reflect rustic lodges.  Either way, you become immersed in the atmosphere and beauty of the award-winning surroundings.

Boatwright's Dining Hall is a wonderful Table Service restaurant onsite where my family has enjoyed dining several times, even when we are not staying at this particular resort.  We like the atmosphere, which is interestingly designed as a boat-building operation, and the delicious southern-style food they serve there!

As for transportation to 1900 Park Fare, which is located in the Grand Floridian Resort, I would suggest the quickest route would be to take the bus to the Magic Kingdom and then hop on the monorail to the Grand Floridian, since buses do not travel from Resort to Resort, only between Parks and Resorts. I would allow about 1.5 to 2 hours for transportation, just to be safe, since you may have to wait up to 20 minutes for your transportation at each location. Also, remember that Disney Transportation begins running approximately 1 hour before park opening.

Your transportation time break down may look like this:

Wait for bus at POR:  20 min
Bus Ride to Magic Kingdom:  20 min
    Walk to Monorail:  20 min
    Wait for Monorail:  20 min
Ride to Grand Floridian:  20 min

So, you see, the transportation time can add up (thought you may not have to wait as long for your rides, so this time could be shortened considerably), so be prepared to allow plenty of time, and look at it as part of the experience!  Enjoy!
