2009 panel post: "The savannas are lit at night by an artificial moonlight, which should enable you to see some wildlife no matter what time you look out." I'm wondering if someone may know what type of light is used ie: halogen, incandescent e

Creating a savanna atmosphere including the artificial moonlight at the Animal Kingdom Lodge was a monumental effort by the Imagineers. You'll notice throughout the resort that lighting is very dim. At first, it may seem too dark in your room but this was all pre-planned!

After all, on a savanna, lighting will originate from the moon, sun and stars. Firepits and fireplaces also add to the lifelike lighting techniques.

Moonlight is created by 50W PAR-20 metal-halide fixtures in order to view the animals at night.

The Animal Kingdom Lodge is one of my favorite resorts. Stop by and see why!
