Hi panel! Planning trip nov8-15 2013. Want to stay in royal rooms at POR. Concerned about bus transport as I have read that the buses can be very full and long waits. I have a special needs 4yo just wondering what to expect. Also are royal rooms worth it?

Hi Linda and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

November is a great time of year to visit, as the temperatures have moderated somewhat from the heat of the summer.  Your vacation will fall over the Veteran's Day holiday, so I would expect to see an increase in crowds over the normal November crowd levels.

We've stayed on property nearly every trip, and have rarely had issues with the busses.

When heading to the parks, we arrive at the bus stop early, and keep in mind that the park that has Extra Magic Hours in the morning will absolutely be more busy in the morning.  We generally avoid that park in the morning if at all possible.  You can see when Extra Magic Hours occur in what park here

When heading home FROM the parks, we either leave early (before the fireworks show, if being shown that night), or we watch the fireworks and linger in the park, soaking up the ambiance.  I think you'll find that the busses are most packed during the 'mass exodus' which is park closing.  Even then, Disney Transportation is very good about getting busses dispatched to the resorts that have the greatest need.  We've even witnessed busses being double-loaded for a resort (two busses loading simultaneously) during park closing.

You didn't mention what special needs your child has, but if your child uses a wheelchair, the drivers are happy to assist you with loading and un-loading.  If he/she has an issue waiting in queues or with large groups of people, make sure you take along items that will help distract them while you wait.

The Royal Rooms are really magical!  I love all the special touches they've added to the room, and the magical fireworks are pretty amazing.
    Have a magical vacation!
