Hi Moms panel! Planning 2nd trip for 8days July 28th thru august 4th, Myself as well as my 4 yr old and 2 yr old are very excited. Last year we visited in early september. I am a little worried about the weather, any advice and do you think I should change

    Hi Laura!

I'm sure you are all excited for your "repeat" trip!  As for the weather, I think you'll find that the temperatures are very similar in late July/early August and early September.  As you know, it gets hot!  In addition, Florida often has afternoon rain storms (that pass by really quickly, and are usually followed by sunny skies) during the summer.  If you found the weather bearable in September, you should be fine during this trip.

We almost always visit during the summer.  Some of my "tips" for dealing with the heat include:

    • Carry a portable or clip-on fan (for your stroller).  They sell fans that are attached to a water spray bottle at the parks, but these are easy to find (and less expensive) if you bring them from home.
    • Visit the parks early in the day and in the evenings, with a trip to your resort pool or a restaurant wedged in between during the hottest part of the day.  Make use of extra morning and evening magic hours if you are staying on property.
    • Carry plenty of frozen water bottles and/or juice boxes.
    • Visit one of the water parks - the heat is almost not-noticeable if you are drenched!
    • See an attraction or go on a ride that is indoors when the sun is at its hottest.   Many of Disney's attractions and shows take place inside air-conditioned venues.
    • During the summer afternoon showers are very common.  We view these as a quick way to cool off.
    • DisneyQuest at Downtown Disney is a favorite of my boys, and is completely indoors and air-conditioned.  It's a great place to escape the heat.

If the timing of your trip works for your family, I say go for it, and have a wonderful time!
