Hello Moms Panel!! I'm planning a WDW trip for the first time with a 7yr girl and a 3 yr boy.Where is the best place to stay to where both my kids would have the best time? This is our first family vaction. Thanks in advance.

    Hi Kimberly!

Thank you for sending in your question to the Walt Disney World Moms Panel.

I think your children will love staying in any Walt Disney World Resort hotel. That said, there are different categories and price ranges. My favorite Disney Value Resort is Pop Century, though I'm excited to stay in the new Disney's Art of Animation Resort when it opens later this year.  My favorite Disney Moderate Resort is Port Orleans Riverside and my favorite Disney Deluxe Resort is the Wilderness Lodge.

If your budget allows, I suggest staying in the Wilderness Lodge or on the Magic Kingdom monorail line. With young children, you may be spending a lot of time in that park. Being on the monorail line gives you easy access to your hotel room for an afternoon nap or just a break. Resorts on the monorail line also provide you with easy access to Epcot, via a monorail transfer at the Transportation and Ticket Center. The Wilderness Lodge is not on the monorail line, but is connected to the Magic Kingdom by a short boat ride.

The Animal Kingdom Lodge is another resort for you to consider as it is a favorite of young children.  Young children just love seeing exotic animals right outside the resort. Unfortunately, though the Animal Kingdom Lodge is relatively remote and not close to the other theme parks except, of course, for Disney's Animal Kingdom. Disney buses can take a little bit longer to get back to the hotel.

By the way, since you said it is your first time visiting, I recommend picking up the book "The Complete Walt Disney World" by Julie and Mike Neal. It is a great book for first time visitors as it is full of information and tips, but is not overwhelming. It is also a beautiful book full of color photographs.  It will give you a good feel for everything there is to do at Walt Disney World.

Enjoy planning your magical vacation, and please write back with more questions!
