Hi Panel - I'll be in WDW in April on business. Thankfully, my hubby & our 4 (!) kids will be able to join me, but they'll be on their own for the first 3 days, staying at Wilderness Lodge Club Level. Any tips for a dad on his own with 4 kids for 3 day

    Hi April,

Your family is going to love Disney's Wilderness Lodge!   What a wonderful added bonus for you to be able to enjoy all the treats available throughout the day at the Old Faithful Club.

Since your husband is going to be managing the kids himself for a few days, I would suggest that he take advantage of your resort's proximity to the Magic Kingdom.  From the Wilderness Lodge to the Magic Kingdom it is only a short four-minute bus ride.  If your kids like boat rides, he could also take the kids to the Magic Kingdom by boat at the back of the resort.  Either way he will have easy access back to the Wilderness Lodge if any of the kids require a nap.

He could also spend a day allowing the kids to enjoy the lovely pools and other activities at the resort.  Most afternoons there are fun activities (like rubber duck races) planned for children.  A schedule outlining these activities is included in your information packet at check-in.  They could also spend some time looking for hidden Mickeys around the resort.

Of course, the third day could be spent at any of the other Disney theme parks.  Transportation to any of them is pretty straight-forward by bus from the Wilderness Lodge.  Encourage your kids to use the buddy system so that they are looking out for each other in addition to your husband keeping an eye on all of them.  Additionally, make sure each of them has your husband's cell phone number readily available in his or her pocket in the off-chance that they might wander away from the group.  Have your husband introduce the children to a cast member early in their visit so that he can point out the distinctive name tags each cast members wears.  A lost child can go to anyone wearing an official Disney name tag for assistance if they need help.

Wishing you a magical family trip this April!
