This panel is so helpful.can you tell me which resort would you like better pofq or por? I can't decide which one I would like better. Bus and walking distance to the check in office were everything is. Thanks you are great.

    Sherri:

Thanks for coming to the Mom's Panel!

Because I'm from the South, I can vouch for the fact that Port Orleans' themeing is spot-on.  It's so big that I like to think about it in three sections, not just two:

Port Orleans: French Quarter (love the iron railings)
Port Orleans: Riverside/Magnolia Bend section (think Southern-style mansions)
Port Orleans: Riverside/Alligator Bayou section (rustic tin-roofed cottages under moss-covered trees)

And I would recommend them in that order, too.

A while back, our family stayed at Port Orleans: Riverside and enjoyed it.  But it was our only choice since we had 5 in our party and needed the trundle beds in the Alligator Bayou section.  If you only had a party of four, I'd go for French Quarter because it's half the size of Riverside and some Riverside rooms could be a 5- to 8-minute walk to check-in and the restaurant.  Additionally, some of its rooms overlook the Sascagoula River that leads to Downtown Disney and gives this property one more amenity that mimics staying at a Deluxe resort for the price of a Moderate.

Both pools have water slides and boat launches to Downtown Disney, but its the smaller, more intimate feel and fun, Mardi Gras atmosphere that puts French Quarter out on top for me!

    Wishing you a magical vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Whitney, Mississippi

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
