Hi Moms Panel - you guys ROCK! I have a quick question about the new murphy beds in the Alligator Bayou section of PO-R. I know that only children under about 9 or so could fit on the trundle beds, but is there a "size-limit" on the murphy beds?

    Hi Miranda!

Thanks for the kudos to the Moms Panel! We love to hear from Guests like yourself and are always eager to assist you in any way we can!

I've just spoken with lovely Lois at Disney's Port Orleans Riverside Resort. Lois checked in with her housekeeping staff for us and confirmed that the new, pull-down wall beds are about the same size as the previous trundle was, and that it is still recommended for a child of no more than Age 9 to ensure comfort.

A few other great new features in these renovated rooms include Queen-size beds (rather than the previous Full-size) as well as new, flat-screen TVs and additional, deep storage drawers under the 'bench' platform for the pull-down wall bed.

The portorleans.org website, a fan site not affiliated with Walt Disney World and containing information subject to change, does currently show some exciting preview photos & information regarding the recently completed buildings' rooms and wall beds if you're interested in catching a glimpse prior to your arrival.

If you're especially interested in enjoying a renovated room during your stay at WDW, be sure to have a Cast Member include a note in your reservation file requesting one. A Cast Member at the resort level will do their very best to accommodate your request upon arrival, but keep in mind that requests cannot always be guaranteed to be available for your specific stay dates.

I hope this information helps you out as you continue your planning.

Wishing you a Magical vacation Miranda!
