Hi Moms Panel! We are cruising in June on the Fantasy (it's our first with DCL) and I'm wondering about the magic bands for our daughter. Is this something that can be removed at night while she sleeps? Thanks!

    Ahoy Jamie!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and congratulations on your very first Disney Cruise! The Disney Fantasy is a fabulous vessel, and I hope it's the first of "minnie" sailings on the most magical cruise line on the high seas!
Your princess is going to love visiting the Oceaneer Club and Lab during your weeklong cruise adventure. Whether she's dancing around on the Magic Playfloor or enjoying storytime in Pixie Hollow, she's going to have the time of her life in the fun, interactive youth areas! She will receive a MagicBand before checking in for the first time. Unlike the MagicBands used at the Walt Disney World Resort, these bands have a small circular security clasp to keep them from falling off and being lost while onboard. The band can be worn on the wrist or ankle so if you think it will bother your daughter, you may want to try it on the ankle. If it's bothersome, the youth counselors can cut off the clasp to loosen it up for a more comfortable fit. If it continues to bother her, I recommend speaking with the counselors about removing it each day. My son's was a little too snug on our last cruise, and it took a couple of tries to get it right.
I'm so glad you stopped by with your question, Jamie! Please keep us posted if you think of anything else! Have a magical day!
