Hello Mom's Panel! Although I am technically not a single parent, I am coming alone with my 5 year old in May and am a much older parent (almost 50). Do you have any helpful hints for traveling in the World with a little one sngle?

What a dream come true for your 5 year-old!  I know my soon-to-be-five-year-old son would be in heaven if he had my undivided attention during a trip to Disney.  Fortunately for the both of you, your trip will be more like everyone else's than different.  Traveling in a party of two means that you'll always have a partner for the attractions and you'll be able to keep track of your child so much more easily.  My only advice would be to use this opportunity to slow down to a childlike pace and let your little one lead the way.  If he/she wants to stop to greet characters, then so be it!  Use the time to let your schedule go by the wayside and soak up every last minute of your child's affection--it won't last forever.  Make magical memories that will last a lifetime!
