Panel addict here! <3 U! Arrive MCO 10/8@2P, take ME 2 AKV. Want to visit FW and take in C&D singalong/mmallow roast, and Haunted carriage ride. Wondering about start/end times for Hoop Dee Do review. Is that something I can fit in on 1st night?

    Erin:

It may be a little tight, but doable if you make a few concessions...two scenarios:

#1: I always tell folks to expect it to take at least 1 1/2 hours to get to their hotel and check in. With a 2:00 p.m. landing, you'll arrive somewhere between 3:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. Then, you'll need to take a bus to the Magic Kingdom (give yourself 45 minutes) and then the boat over to Fort Wilderness (the ride is 15 to 20 minutes, and the wait itself might be 20 minutes). To me, the transfer from the hotel to the fort would make me nervous, not to mention late for the 5:00 p.m. dinner show. I'd recommend taking a taxi to the fort (they'll drop you off in the general parking area) and then take the Orange Line internal bus to Pioneer Hall. You'll get out just in time for the 7:00 Haunted Carriage Ride starting at the back of Pioneer Hall near the stables. The ride is about 30 minutes long, so you'll have just enough time to walk or catch a bus over behind Loop 600 to the campfire which will be showing at 8 p.m. (it changes to 7 p.m. after Daylight Savings Time).

#2: If you think you could stand a late night, you might want to consider planning your evening around the 9:30 p.m. Hoop Dee Doo Revue show, arriving at the fort for the 7:00 carriage ride and getting to the campfire by 8 p.m. and then you can mosey over to Pioneer Hall for the 9:30 dinner show. You won't get out until almost 11:30 p.m., but there will be buses from the front of Fort Wilderness (you'll take an Orange Line bus up to the front) to your resort.

Personally, the money for the taxi makes the 5 p.m. dinner show worth it to alleviate the hassle of the transfers and such a late night with the 9:30 p.m. show.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
