I am going to Orlando MK with wife & 3 kids, 2, 6 & 7.5 & I am worried about going on some of the rides that can only fit 2 at a time. Can we wait online together for Astro & take turns with each of older kids while staying back with 2 y/o

    Hi Yehoshua,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for asking us a question!

You’ll be happy to know that many of the attractions at Magic Kingdom Park actually will accommodate your family in 2 ride vehicles, especially if your 2 year old can sit in either you or your wife’s lap during the experience.

That being said, to use your example of the Astro Orbiter, there are some times when one adult will need to wait with two of the kids while the other adult experiences the attraction with one of the children. Although I only have one child, he really didn’t want to ride the Astro Orbiter when he first saw it. What my husband and I did was wait in line with him and then we rode the elevator up to the ride platform together and my little guy and I watched my husband ride with one of our friends while my son made up his mind about whether he wanted to ride. In the end, he wasn’t brave enough, but I would have been able to ride with him after my husband, had he wanted to do so.

My best piece of advice? If you’re unsure about a given attraction’s ride configuration, be sure to ask the Cast Member that will greet you at the beginning of either the FastPass+ or Standby queue any of the questions that you may have. They’ll be able to suggest a solution, such as Rider Switch, that will make the most sense for you and your family so that everyone who is able (and willing!) to experience a given attraction will be able to do so.

Please don’t hesitate to come back and see us if you have any other questions.

    Have a Magical Day,
