We ordered the 4 day military salute tickets with max pass and received the paper vouchers. Can we scan these in the Disney App now or do we need to wait till there are activated at Disneyland?

    Hi Catherine!

Welcome! And thank you for bringing this excellent Disneyland Resort vacation planning question to us hEAR at the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Mine is a Military family too; we're actually currently stationed not too far from Walt's original family theme park! I absolutely love bringing friends and family to Disneyland Resort with these Military promotional theme park tickets, and I'm more than happy to walk you through this.

You should be able to scan your passes in to your Disneyland Mobile App ahead of your arrival. However, I prefer having the actual paper vouchers in hand, tickets unlinked, because in case any snafus should happen, I can hand the paper over to the Cast Member rather than my phone that might time out and need to have its passcode reentered, etc.

Either way the validation of these tickets is identical and super easy: you'll head directly to the regular entrance gate for either Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure Park, and with your Military ID out and ready to go, either hand over your first paper voucher or have the the app open and the first ticket pulled up. The Cast Member will scan the **paper voucher/linked ticket, take the picture of the guest associated to that ticket, a brand new paper ticket will pop out and boom, that person is in! The whole process takes about a minute, if that, per guest. If you used the paper vouchers, as soon as the first of your party is in the park, you can open up your app, click the plus button, start scanning your party's ticket and then you'll officially be set and ready to go.

(**I also think having the paper vouchers helps during the validation process, because this way each family member can hand over their pass as they approach and then go through the turnstile vs. having the one phone holder stand in the tight squeeze of the gate, swiping through the linked tickets looking for the one belonging to the next person while also having to get through the line themselves.)

One thing that you can do now is add your credit card information to your Disneyland App so you can utilize Mobile Food and Beverage Ordering. It's a really big time saver, and actually my family likes to use it to order items from several Disney Dining Locations for pick up around the same time because of course we can never agree on eating the same thing at the same time.

I hope that this helped to plan your upcoming Disney Days, Catherine! I know your family is going to have a blast, especially with the convenience of MaxPass for both your FASTPASS reservations but also your PhotoPass photos. And don't forget to check out the Flag Retreat Ceremony in Disneyland Park, which is a beautiful salute to the troops! We'll See You Real Soon!
