On a 9:00am opening at Magic Kingdom, when does the monorail start running from the TTC? We wanted to arrive to board the monorail at 7:00am.... will they be running 2 hours before park opening?

    Hi Jennifer!

It is a pleasure to welcome you to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

The Walt Disney World Monorail System usually starts operating 30 minutes prior to earliest park opening, but it is very common to see the Resort Monorail operating earlier to accommodate Guests with breakfast reservations at restaurants located at the Disney Resort hotels on the monorail line. The schedule may also change due to special events being offered in the morning at Magic Kingdom Park, so talk to a Cast Member upon arriving at the Transportation and Ticket Center to confirm the monorail schedule for the day. I believe the Resort Monorail will be your best option. It will stop at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa before stopping at the park.

Did you know that Guests are allowed to enter Magic Kingdom Park one hour before official opening time? During this hour you are welcome to walk down Main Street U.S.A. all the way to the front of Cinderella Castle. Access to all lands will be closed, but some shops may already be open, including Main Street Bakery. This is the perfect opportunity to arrive early, grab a bite to eat and a cup of coffee, and start your day with Let the Magic Begin, an opening ceremony where Mickey and friends greet Guests daily in front of Cinderella Castle approximately 5 minutes prior to park opening time. I just cannot think of a better way to start a fun-filled day at The Most Magical Place on Earth!

I hope this helps you while planning, Jennifer! Come back to visit us with more questions, we are delighted to help.

    Best magical wishes,
