With the opening of Galaxy Edge this month, is there a chance that the Jedi Mickey character meal may become a more regular offering? We are doing the Rival Run challenge and want to plan something fun for the kiddos!

    Hi Erin!

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! We are huge Star Wars fans in my house too, and we’ll be joining you for the 2020 Star Wars Rival Run Weekend! This will be our fourth time running this event and we are really hoping at least one of the courses takes us through Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. I know we’ll be anxiously watching for more information as the race approaches.

Jedi Mickey, much like Luke Skywalker, has not been seen in the Galaxy for quite awhile. At this time, I have not heard of any plans to bring him back to the parks, and I don't think he will be returning. However, with the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, I am hoping we will see announcements of new Star Wars themed events and Enchanting Extras over the next few months. We have always visited Disney’s Hollywood Studios the evening after the half marathon to get PhotoPass+ Photos with our race medals and watch Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular. The dessert party that accompanies this show is only booking until the end of this month, but if this event or something similar is offered in the spring, that might be something fun and extra special for your family.

You may also want to consider something like building a droid at the Droid Depot, or adopting a new pet at the Creature Stall. Just be sure to visit Chewbacca before adopting any pets, as I know he has a taste for Porg!

Be sure to keep an eye on the Disney Parks Blog for announcements of new special events, and the runDisney Blog for more race weekend information as the Star Wars Rival Run Weekend approaches!

     Happy training!
