We are going ont he Disney Dream on June 29, 2012. This will be our frist cruise. We are thinking of doing 3 or 4 days at Disney before and then one day after. We return on July 4th. Is this a good idea or not? Better before cruise, after or both?

Ahoy, Laurie! How exciting you are going to be experiencing a Disney Surf and Turf on the fabulous Disney Dream next year! Typically I would recommend doing the land portion of your trip after you cruise. However, looking at your travel dates I will suggest experiencing the Walt Disney World Resort before you cruise. It will very likely be the case that theme park attendance will be higher than usual due to the holiday. However, if your heart is set on watching the spectacular 4th of July fireworks display over Magic Kingdom, I would recommend simply adding a Pre- and Post-Cruise Hotel Package at both ends of your Disney cruise reservation. Don't forget to purchase Magic Your Way Tickets with Park Hopper Option which will allow you to access more than one of the 4 Disney theme parks in a single day. Be sure to contact Disney Cruise Line at (800) 951-3532 to add the Pre- and/or Post-Cruise Hotel Package to your Disney Cruise reservation. Please let me know if I can answer any other questions for you. Enjoy a most memorable Disney Surf and Turf vacation in 2012!
