Hi! 1st on-site visit to grand Floridian in August. Are there any special perks we shouldn’t miss like the power walk in grand Californian? Also, any kids activities for 3 boys aged 8, 10 and 12? And not to be missed dining experiences? So excited! X

Hello, Judith and welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. We are so glad to see you here planning your August vacation!

I have traveled to the Walt Disney World Resort the last few summers and have been so happy to brave the Florida heat and enjoy the Magic. You have picked an amazing place for your first on-site stay and with so much to see and do at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, I hope you love it!

My first piece of advice is to grab a Resort Experience Guide upon check-in. These are pamphlets that tell you all of the complimentary activities available at your resort while you are there. For example, in February, you can find Rise & Shine Yoga on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. You will also find things like Sandcastle building and Movies Under the Stars on this guide. Times and activities are subject to change month to month, so while I can't provide specifics, I can say there are lots of offerings at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa!

Judith, you also asked specifically about experiences your boys might enjoy. As a fellow boy-Mom, I'm excited to share my family favorites! Mickey Tie-Dye, available at your resort for a fee, was a big hit with my kids. You are able to create your own shirt design with Mickey Mouse and information can be found on the Resort Experience Guide.

Another can't miss if your boys are interested in basketball is the NBA Experience at Disney Springs. I had no idea how much fun this would be until I tried it. With lots of interactive games and challenges, this is a great way to take a break from shopping. Another must-do at Disney Springs is a visit to the Coca-Cola store where we like to visit the roof top bar and sample different Coca-Cola products from all over the world. My boys loved deciding which were great and which were gross!

In terms of dining, if your boys like character interactions, look no further than your own resort. Cinderella's Happily Ever After Dinner at 1900 Park Fare offers not only Cinderella and Prince Charming, but her step-mother and sisters who are eager to share their hilarious antics and poke fun at their lot in life.

Another favorite of my boys is found at Disney's Hollywood Studios: Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant. We love the drive-in atmosphere and the burgers.

Finally, have you heard about Space 220 at Epcot? While this restaurant isn't open quite yet, it is topping my kids' dining bucketlist. If any of your sons like space as mine do, keep an eye on Disney Parks Blog for when reservations open up.

Judith, I hope this helps as you are making plans for your upcoming trip. Come on back and see us with any other questions! Best wishes for trip that Mary Poppins would deem, 'Practically Perfect in Every Way.'
