    Lerma from HI Asked

I did online check in but there was no spot for room request and expected arrival time. What should I do as we are arriving early and also want a room close to transportation.

    Hi Lerma,

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

When facing a similar dilemma in the past, I called the Walt Disney World Resort to speak to a cast member who ultimately made a note on our reservation. If you booked your vacation through a travel agent, I suggest that you contact your travel agent to note those requests on your reservation. We also always do Online Check-In and, when I receive the text message alert that our room is ready, I check the actual assigned room location using a resort map. If the room is not where we requested, I call the number in the text message and reiterate our request with a cast member. Or, if we are checking in at the front desk, I ask the cast member who is locating a room for us.

Cast members have always been incredibly helpful with our room requests. Although we have not always received all of our requests, cast members offered options based on room availability for the week of our stay. Like you, we prefer to be close to transportation but we also prefer to be close to the dining areas. When we have arrived early, we have elected to wait for a room that was close to transportation if none were available at the time we arrived. We have also checked-in and then been offered a different room the next day. We declined this offer on one visit because it would have required us to check out the next morning and then wait for the new room to be ready later in the afternoon. After getting settled in the first room, we decided it was not worth the effort to move!

Lerma, I do hope you get all of your room preferences! Just decide which requests are your priorities and then make decisions accordingly.

Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
    Donyell
