Hi. One of my party can’t use fingerprint reader due to tremors in hands. Can he use alternative ID with his ticket to access parks?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Catherine.

I’m sure you’re excited about your upcoming Walt Disney World Resort vacation! There’s no need to worry if a member in your Party has trouble with the biometric scanner at the entrance to the Walt Disney World Resort Theme Parks and Water Parks. He will need to present a valid photo ID along with his MagicBand or Admission Card in order to gain access to the Parks. Just alert the Cast Member at the touchpoint and let them know he’ll need to show his ID. If it’s his first time entering the Park, they’ll take his photo; when he returns they’ll compare him and his ID with the photo stored in the system. While it definitely isn’t a problem, you’ll want to give your Party a little extra time to get through the entrance.

If he has any further physical limitations, Walt Disney World Resort does an excellent job of accommodating Guests with disabilities. You’ll find Guide Maps for the disabled at the entrance to all of the Theme Parks and Water Parks, but there are also PDF versions available online. Additionally, the Disability Access Service is wonderful for Guests with physical and cognitive disabilities as well.

I hope you and your Party have a wonderful visit to Walt Disney World Resort, Catherine! As you continue to plan, please don’t hesitate to come back and let us know if we can answer any other questions for you. We hope to see you real soon!
