    Elizabeth from CA Asked

one day at disneyland / california adventure, what to do first?

    Hiya, Elizabeth!

Ooh! It looks like you are taking on the #DisneylandChallenge! I like to start my visits to the Disneyland Resort where it all began: at Disneyland Park, “Walt Disney’s Original Magic Kingdom.” First, a lovely stroll down Main Street, U.S.A. helps get me in the mood for a magical day.

Once I get to the Central Plaza, sometimes called “the Hub,” I have a decision to make. If I’m feeling like a thrill I usually head toward Tomorrowland to ride Space Mountain. If I “come seekin’ adventure and salty pirates,” I visit New Orleans Square and the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction. Some days, I just want a pleasant visit to Fantasyland and the many, slower-paced adventures through imagination available there. My favorite? That would be Mr. Toad's Wild Ride.

In Disney California Adventure Park, I usually start with an attraction with an exclamation point. Either Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! or Toy Story Midway Mania! will do for me! Then I like to slow things down a bit with either a voyage under the sea or a flight around the world.

Another great thing to do as you first enter a park at the Disneyland Resort is to purchase Disney MaxPass and make a Disney FASTPASS selection. In Disneyland Park, I usually select Space Mountain or Matterhorn Bobsleds. In Disney California Adventure Park, Radiator Springs Racers is a very popular attraction. So I like to make a FASTPASS selection there before they race away! With MaxPass added to our tickets, we also make sure to stop for pictures with Disney PhotoPass photographers. MaxPass gives us unlimited downloads of all those great memories!

After a full day of the #DisneylandChallenge, you’ll want the perfect “kiss goodnight.” My favorite nighttime spectaculars are Fantasmic! and World of Color.

I hope you have a magical time at the Happiest Place on Earth, Elizabeth. Please come back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel with any additional questions you may have.
