when you have one child that doesn't meet the height requirements do you suggest just one parent get a fast pass and then do the rider switch or would you still need 2 fast passes? Also any suggestions to avoid meltdowns when height is a factor?

    Hello Lindsay!

If Guests in your party don’t want to board an attraction or don't meet the height requirement, then yes, I absolutely suggest using the Rider Switch service, so you don’t have to miss out. One adult can wait with the non-rider while the rest of the party experiences the attraction. The waiting adult can then board the attraction without having to wait in the regular line again when another adult in the party returns to supervise the child or children who do not ride.

In order to use Rider Switch with FastPass+ selections, those in the party riding the attraction first would need a FastPass+ reservation. You can ask for a Rider Switch pass at the FastPass+ entrance. The waiting adult would not need a FastPass+ reservation to ride afterwards, just the Rider Switch Pass.

A few of my children have had some memorable meltdowns when they did not meet the height requirements for certain attractions. This was mostly because I was not prepared. I would suggest measuring your child before your vacation and be aware of what attractions he will not be able to ride. I would think of an alternative attraction to ride with him or if all else fails, I am not above bribery. I have a purse full of lollipops at all times, and I can always use another excuse to eat a Mickey Ice Cream Bar.
