It will be our oldest son's sixth birthday when we arrive on November 10th. We have a 12 hour drive so we were not planning to go to a park that day. Both he and our 2 year old are frightened of characters. What do you suggest for a birthday celebration?

    Hi Stephanie!

    That is a great question!

I would recommend exploring your resort and having a small celebration with cake at a restaurant at the resort.  Small celebration cakes do not have to be ordered in advance, but more elaborates cakes do.   You can also visit Downtown Disney as an alternative and have the celebration in a restaurant there.  There are great restaurants and shops there including the World of Disney, the largest Disney merchandise store in the world.  You could let your son pick out a special gift there.   Another option is to go to DisneyQuest in Downtown Disney.  Your oldest child will enjoy a lot of it, but your youngest would not have much to do.

i hope this helps!  Enjoy planning your magical Disney vacation!
