Okay, turns out that Star Wars opens the day before we check out, what are the chances that H/S in WDW will have the extra early morning hours that day and being on a Disney resort, would we have a chance to get in? Thanks

Hello there, Lisa! Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Thanks for reaching out and sending over your Walt Disney World Resort vacation!

Yes, we finally have news on the grand opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge! This all-new land at Walt Disney World Resort will be putting Guests right into the universe of Stars Wars beginning on August 29th, 2019! Only a few more months to go at this point!

Historically, Walt Disney World Resort has not featured early morning Extra Magic Hours on opening day for any of their new lands. However, never say never! I would keep an eye out on the Park Hours webpage prior to your arrival date to see if they do end up adding Extra Magic Hours.

If you are intending on visiting Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge on opening day regardless of Extra Magic Hours offerings, I do have a few tips for your visit! First, plan on arriving early to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. When new lands and attractions open, you can expect quite a crowd, particularly on opening day! Second, be sure to bring water or other hydrating beverages with you to the park. As I just mentioned, you are going to want to prepare for a bit of a wait and hydrating during the hot August mornings is a must! Third, download the Play Disney Parks app for some in-queue entertainment. This mobile app is a fun way to experience the parks and provide some entertainment while you wait!

I hope these tips help make your launch into Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge absolutely magical!
