So, here is my odd ball question. Is the mac and cheese on the kids buffet a baked mac and cheese, or is it more like kraft mac n cheese? My 9 year old doesn't like the baked stuff, and I want to be able to prepare him.

Hi, Shelly! We're big fans of mac and cheese too. The mac and cheese you'll find in most buffets at Walt Disney World appears and tastes like the baked stuff. You know the type - bigger noodles, more gooey and less adhesive cheese, etc. In fact - although it's not a buffet - the Liberty Tree Tavern serves Stouffers mac and cheese!

Now, I know the boxed macaroni and cheese is epic for both kids and nostalgic adults alike. That being said, this might be an awesome opportunity to start your quest of becoming a Walt Disney World foodie. There is a budding trend that the Disney Food Blog recently covered about gourmet mac and cheese. In the blog's Jan. 2, 2011 article "Disney Food Trends: Gourmet Mac and Cheese," you get a look into some of the most delicious interpretations of the macaroni and cheese marriage, including:
    • Yachtman's Steakhouse truffle mac and cheese
    • Le Cellier's mac and cheese
    • Le Chefs de France Gratin de Macaroni
    • Jiko's mac and cheese side
    • Artist Point's Black Diamond cheddar mac and cheese

    Bon appétit!
