This might be a nutty question, but how do you pick a resort? I've used the Disney website to try to narrow down my options, but it's still not working for me. What it's missing is what kind of vibe is happening at each resort.

    Hi Corrina,

"How do I choose a resort" is a question with a thousand answers. Each guest has his or her own needs/interests/budget to consider when choosing between the dozens of Disney World hotel options. While one guest might prioritize low price, another might prioritize luxury. Some guests want quiet, while others prefer to be in the middle of the action. Some want romance and some want family-friendly. And on and on and on.

While the official Disney website does a good job narrowing the choices by price, you're correct that they neglect tools to narrow by other characteristics. For this, you'll want to visit a few of the dozens of independent Disney fan websites. There are several of these sites that that have extensive reviews of each hotel including photos, FAQs and honest evaluations of each aspect of the resort. A few that are great to start with include AllEars.net, TouringPlans.com, and PassPorter.com. You can also check sites like Trip Advisor and Yelp.

I encourage you to do a little soul searching before you start. Decide what type of experience you're looking for (laid back? action packed? etc.) and then head over to the review sites and look for descriptions that match your interests.

If you have questions about a specific hotel or would like a compare/contrast evaluation of a few options, just let us know. We're happy to help.
